At Mapletree, we believe great art and design should be shared, which is why we commissioned artworks around the public spaces of our flagship developments such as VivoCity and Mapletree Business City.

VivoCity houses an international art collection from the inaugural Singapore Biennale, while Mapletree Business City showcases inspiring installations that blend harmoniously with its green landscape and architecture.

Our commitment to supporting the arts and design further extends to nurturing young designers. To date, we have organised two furniture design competitions for young designers. The ‘Design in the City’ competition, aimed at Singapore tertiary students was organised as part of the grand opening celebrations of Mapletree Business City in March 2012. The winning entry from the competition will be integrated into Mapletree Business City’s landscapes. This public showcase not only adds vibrancy and inspiration to Mapletree Business City, it also serves as a platform for designers to be noticed, which will help towards launching their design careers.

In support for various artistic endeavours, Mapletree has over the years made cash and in-kind contribution such as through venue sponsorships at its facilities. For these contributions, we are a consistent recipient of the annual National Arts Council’s Patron of the Arts Awards.
